I have never done wood burning before and I want to teach a 8 year old boy how to have fun with wood.

Well i paid $69 for this kit only 1 month ago. So im bummed that the price is now much lower. Other than that I realy like this kit. Ive been using it non stop since i got it. The pictures attached are done w this burner.

I have a couple of the classic chisel tip pen style wood burners, including one from when my mother was a kid in the 60's. While they all work as intended for burning wood, it is really cool to be able to control and change the temperature on this one to get more consistent results. The wire tips take a bit of getting used to after only using the solid metal tips but they're quite nice and I like that I am less likely to accidentally sink my tip into the wood like I frequently do with the metal chisel tips.It is easy to adjust the temperature and the tips are easy to change when cool. I really like that this machine has two pens so you can have two tips ready to use without cooling off in between or you can be using one while the other pen cools off to change tips.I have two similar wood burning machines with only one pen on them and they work great, but after getting the dual pen machine I can say that having two pens really makes a big difference, at least for me. If budget is tight, the single pen machine works great... but if it isn't an issue and you're debating between one and two pens, I'd say go with two.I am happy with it so far and will update my review if anything makes my feelings change.

I have a daughter that had and interest in pyrography and my little wood burner was not cutting it anymore. We decided to give this one a try and we are glad we did. This set has two pens which allows you to switch pens and tips while one is cooling down. Only one can operate hot at a time, but they do heat up fast. The machine is easy to use and there is a good variety of basic tips. The tips will become a bit more pliable with the heat, so be aware. This dual wood burning pen kit is nothing but a solid 4.7 star product for under $50 if you have a Prime membership. Comes with two lightweight and compact Wood burning pens, plenty of nibs and tips depending what you wanna do and you can practice on the 6pcs wood that come with it so you don't have to go out right away and get some! Practice material included! The two pens are great if you and a child or partner are working on different products at the same time, but beware that there is only one temperature knob setting that heats BOTH simultaneously. I regret to say this as a Con but I must because it does allow two people to use at the same time, but both are going to have the same heat level at the same time. It's best used if you want two different tips at the same time and you can just alternate between one and the other. This should have been two individual controls for the individual pens.
