The title of this listing undersells it a little bit - while I thought at first glance this was a soldering fume extractor, it's actually a full integrated soldering station for less than many other vendors charge for an extractor alone. I'm pleased to report this is an excellent value and well built, with all the features you'd need for everyday soldering. When fully assembled with all of the attachments, this soldering station consists of a main unit with a single power supply that serves as the fume extractor, plus two sidecar attachments that provide a solder roll holder and the soldering iron storage. The included iron feels nice to hold in your hands and is pretty reminiscent of other top tier irons - it's not quite as nice as my Hakko, but it's heads and tails above Weller or any generic iron that plugs directly into the wall you may have used previously. There are also some baffles that install on the front to guide air from your soldering work through the fume extractor. My favorite part of this station is how compact it is on my workbench. Previously, I had three separate items instead of this one, and they were kind of scattered across the whole desk - now, when I push the fume extractor out of the way, all of the other soldering gear goes with it.There is a full digital temperature control on the top of the extractor, and adjustments are easy to make in imperial or metric units. Judging by how the iron responds to my usual solder, the temperature is roughly accurate; I haven't taken precise measurements but it seems in line with my expectations. This station should be everything most people need for light to medium duty soldering work. If you're not willing to spend for a full Hakko FX888, I think this is probably the next best solution I've played with, and I've tried a lot of different irons. I think it would be particularly well suited for a makerspace, school or university laboratory, where the integrated extractor solves health and safety issues and the low cost means it isn't precious if a student or member damages the equipment.

Generally, I like Yihua products, but this is a Loser. Like several others of these devices by other vendors, the fan is so weak that you really need to be no more than 1 or 2 inches away from the front of the fan. This makes soldering very difficult. How hard is it to provide a more powerful fan with some real suction? You'll notice that the CFMs are hard to find in the Specs.

[2023 = YIHUA 948DQ-II Soldering Fume Extractor 2-IN-1 60W Adjustable Temperature Control Solder Iron Station...]I got this soldering station in mid 2023 and neglected to do a review at the time, but the specs are the same so here goes.I really didn't need the soldering iron, it was the extractor fan part I was interested in. Sadly, although everything works, the extractor fan is pathetically weak, and it's only able to draw in smoke or fumes from immediately in front of the fan to a distance of about three inches from the fan. That's no good for me because I wanted to use it when making 3D stained glass items and sun catchers and need a fan that can move air at least one foot away. Perhaps it's unrealistic to expect that, but it's my hope. So, if someone is only soldering tiny items that can sit an inch or two from the fan, then go for it. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.
