I love the light weight of maple, and the handles are sanded perfectly. The drum mallet heads are sturdy, and a great quality of felt. They work beautifully on toms and a bass drum. I'm really happy with these mallets. The price is quite reasonable as well.

I got these because I needed new mallets for cymbal rolls on my drum kit. These have a bigger head than I was expecting and are a little firmer/harder than I expected, but they work fine. (I know they're more for marching band bass drums. That's OK. So were my old cymbal mallets).These mallets are well constructed. The mallet shafts are nice and thick, which gives better feel and control.As I said, they work fine for cymbal rolls. I don't have a gong but I bet these would do just fine for gong striking, too.
