Instructions of the base:
Press the button for the first time, the light will change colors very slowly. Press it again and the light will change colors faster. When the button is pressed for the third time, the light will change color to white and stop changing colors automatically and each time the switch is pressed thereafter, the light will change and stay in one color. The fourth time you press the button, the color of light is red; the fifth time is blue and the sixth time is green. Press it the seventh time, the light will turn off. Press and hold the switch for three seconds to turn off the light regardless of the mode.

excellent!! Also includes a usb C cable (use with a 5v mini brick power adapter) as so you don't burn though the aaa batteries..which you will. Also the lighting is better plugged in then with batteries. Either way you have two options.Changing colors or static can be togged with power button.
