You get what you pay for. This 65 yr old woman put it together without issues in 25 mins. there are thoughtful details like felt on the center support beam to dampen bounce and squeaks. Also the cover is well made, nicely fitted and made from study materials. If you don't love hauling your mattress up out of its bed frame to tuck in sheets, this is the ticket.Tips for easy peasy assembly:1 Lay out ALL the bamboo framing right sides up in position.2 Screw all pieces together LOOSELY at first, so go one time around, including center beam, just turning the bolts enough to attach pieces without tightening anywhere.3 Now go around screwing in the bolts to hand tightness.4 Finally use the nifty rachet included to tighten fully. Don't over tighten or crack anything, use commonsense.(One person assembly tip: assemble the frame w/o straps if you have to position on bed frame by yourself, it's lighter. Straps can easily be placed with this inside the bed frame.)5 Figure out where the peg holes are drilled into the last/first strap of wood in each series of straps attached by velcro.6 Keeping the straps in a stack position the strap with holes over the middle of bed pegs, velcro on bottom, and lay out straps one by one to pull velcro tight and smooth going up to head or down to foot. Adjust as needed.7 Cover and badabing, done! One person can easily do this so long as they understand you never screw to death on the first go-round. Maybe Kings would be too much for one person but a Full was a cinch and a 6" wider Queen size would've been do-able as well.

Easy to put together, seems good quality - the slats have Velcro to keep them down on the frame and have little wooden nobs to keep them in place. The frame is sturdy, no squeaking, had a cover and fit our king bed perfect! So glad we ordered this! 4” is perfect, lifts the mattress up to the perfect higher :) pleased and happy

This came in a box about 10" square and 7' tall. It was like an IKEA put together but this one was much, much simpler because the instructions were in english and with detailed pictures. You assemble (the 5 star rating) the two pre made ends to the two side rails and then you insert the middle rail using the supplied screws and a mini ratchet that came in the box. Once the main frame and middle rail were assembled and tightened we moved it onto the bed platform. We then installed the included slats that were connected to strips of Velcro. To get you started there were two dowels in the side rails and two matching holes in one of the two groups of slats. The first group of slats was so easy, put first slat onto the dowels hold it in place while stretching the remainder out and laying them down onto the Velcro on the side rails. The second set of slats was a bit trickier because you had to guesstimate the gap for the first slat before stretching out the remainder. Once you were comfortable all of the slats were firmly seated in the Velcro they also included a cover. Once you figured out which way to orient it and how much to have overlapping the top it was a matter of stretching the cover over the entire assembled foundation (the 4 stars) and zipped it closed. (like putting an overstuffed pillow into a case with a zipper all the way around). All in all this wood foundation is a quality product. It was packed very well and went together with a minimum of effort. With the cover on it, aside from it being only 4" tall it looked like a conventional box spring. With the bed platform (11" tall) and this 4" box spring the mattress height is just right. We first tried using a convectional box spring but combined with the mattress you would need a step ladder to get into bed. With this 4" wooden slat box frame the bed height is appropriate for adults who would be the main users of this guest bed. If you are going to a platform vs. conventional bed frame this 4" box spring is the bomb.

My husband said very well made! Very easy to put together! Instructions great! The cover that goes over it was nice and easy to put over yet snug!! Now the most important part, how well will it do with mattress on top of it and a body on top of the mattress!! Review to be continued!!

I am so happy I bought this! I had been dealing with a worn out squeaking box spring for a year and I would wake up just by adjusting in my sleep. I bought this as I live in an apartment and needed something I could move alone. It took no time to put together I read about the issues with the clover not fitting so I made sure to lay it out before I put it on, to make sure I had it the right way. The zipper was a bit tough on the corners but otherwise went on perfectly and added to the sturdiness. In terms of value for money there is really not difference, actually this cost more then most box springs from mattress stores. The value was in the fact that I don’t have a truck or someone to help me get one of those home and this was delivers to my door. This is the fifth product from Zinus that I have bought and I have been happy with all the others. They are definitely my go to brand when I am looking for easy and Convenient.

but it does! We took this box spring to the "cottage" to put in our small camper trailer. It was very well packaged, so it was perfect to transport for the 6hr drive. It was very easy to assemble and it came with great tools to get the job done quickly and easily. I did it by myself with no issues -- I did need help to put the cover on, which was somewhat of a shame, to cover such high quality and perfectly smooth finish, but the cover itself is wonderful. I was actually surprised at how nice the box spring is. The first night we slept on it, we couldn't believe how comfortable it was! It was like having a new bed. Other than the trailer, I have always had a box spring and I never thought much about it, but putting this box spring under our mattress was incredible. We slept like a dream every night, and with all of the physical labour we do at the cottage, it was so wonderful to sink into that bed every night. We love it and it made our little trailer feel like a home.I highly recommend this box spring, and should I need one for my regular home, I would definitely purchase from this company again. Absolutely love it!

It’s cheap pine wood. But easy to assemble - all the spots drilled correctly and only takes 8 screws and bolts (I believe). As others had said, it is difficult to get the cover on. Taken from what others said in reviews, if it wasn’t going to zip up easily, I took it off and tried to turn it. I bought a king size, so it wasn’t easy to keep track of all the fabric and I must have messed up somewhere cause it took me 3 turns to get it right. Meanwhile I was trying to turn my king size box in a small room over top of my bed frame (wouldn’t have gotten it through the doorway if I built it before bringing it in). Needless to say it wasn’t fun. The slats are secured to the box with Velcro but they keep falling out when we were trying to get the cover on. In my particular situation, 2 people were not enough. it was difficult and we almost gave up putting on the cover. It once on, it was tight and not saggy. I’ve been sleeping on it for a few months now. Never noticed noise or breakage. So though I wondered about the cheap pine, so far it’s perfect for what I wanted (that is, until I move and have to physically take it apart to get it through the door and hallway and rebuild it - such is life I guess!).

The cover is tricky but it's easy to put on if you stand up the entire thing on its side and put the cover on top. (Get someone to help you hold it.) Start zipping it up and then gently put the whole thing on the floor to finish zipping it up. Make sure the zipper is facing up, not towards the floor. This box spring seems well made, was relatively easy to assemble. Instructions were clear and had pictures. Hopefully this box spring will last a long time.

Have had the box spring for two weeks and it has made a huge difference in terms of the bed responds to our movements where before having the box spring, we sank in a lot. However, the bed feels much more supportive and responsive. The box spring is really easy to assemble and it is solid, much better than IKEA products. The low profile, 4" is just what we needed and it is hard to find. The price is higher than most low profile box spring out there - but for us we had no choice but to get his one, since it is not easy to find one that is made here for Canadians by Canadians.
