I love this awl. It is sharp and the point is so small it can go through nearly anything. I use it for my leather crafting, but I also use it on my home made candles should the wick fall side ways. I push the awl into the candle, pull it out and insert another wick. I can use it on my leather bridles to make another hole and many other things.

The only thing that I would suggest, is having a better cover that fits tighter. One plastic one doesn't serve a purpose at all.

It keeps it sharpness, but because the metal is so hard it snaps very easy, so I've had to regrind the point a few times. Works extremely well.
