I've been using this product for about a month, so I can't speak to its long-term durability or the security of the handle. Compared to the one I replaced, which I had for many years, this one is smaller. It also doesn't come with a protective cover, which means you'll need to store it separately to prevent damage if you keep it in a drawer. Overall, I wouldn't buy this a second time.

So much easier to clean than the big block shredder, as and fits in the drawer easily. The big one now only gets used as a slicer or when I'm shredding one or more blocks of cheese. It's easy to hold, plenty sturdy, plenty sharp and it makes quick work of a small block of cheese without being big and bulky.Also, I realized just a couple of weeks ago that I can use the end to make small slices that are a perfect size for paying the toddler cheese tax. I'm sure it's by design, but I didn't realize it until recently (I blame Dad-brain). Get it and don't look back.

When I opened the box and retrieved the little grater, my initial reaction was ‘ I will be returning this, it’s only fit for grating Parmesan or ginger’ I wanted to grate cheddar! But looks are deceiving, this is the best grater I have ever had and I’ve had a fair few different types. It’s so sharp, there is no effort needed and very solid, no bending when sliding that cheese down. It’s a finer grater it’s not chunky flakes of cheese but it’s a really good grater!
