It is sturdy and fits in drawers. The Amazon description states that it is dishwasher safe. However, the box it comes in says to hand wash only and wash immediately after use for optimal maintenance.Made in China.

It’s not as heavy as one would think it might be from looking at the photo but it is heavy enough to get the job done. I bought it to replace my grandmothers wooden tenderizer mallet as it’s over 60 years old and i want to perserve it. It works well for me and i recommend it.
