These rulers are well made and easy to read. Purchased for baking and we are very impressed with them.Says stainless steel but still has enough iron to be strongly attracted to magnets. Now we have to see how the steel holds up with use in wet dough/damp environments.

....with multiple divisions of inches (from 1/64 up to full inch) and centimeters (from deci-millimeters up to full centimer). Both sides of the straightedge are marked- in exactly the same way. Therein lies my problem with this tool. You can always and only measure inches left to right with the _bottom_ of the ruler. If you want to measure inches from the _top_ of the ruler, you must read them upside down and right to left. Not all items to be measured can "support" a left-to-right-bottom-of-the-ruler read. Having to flip between left-to-right-bottom-read and right-to-left-top-read can create unneccesary measuring difficulties. The solve is simple- engrave one side of the ruler with the inches on the top edge and one side with the inches on the bottom edge.

I got this because zero is on the edge and both metric and imperial count up from the same side (the edge of course). It's also 16" long, metal, and straight, exactly what I was looking for.

I've been wanting a metal ruler for a very long time but just never got around to picking one up. I do a lot of printing on my HP Printer, often doing CD Artwork for the jewel cases or other wall art which I put up on the walls in my tiny music room. I've been using a wood ruler that has a metal insert but it kind of moves a little bit and my exacto cuts into the wood. I finally purchased these and they have made life much easier. No more poor quality cuts, no more wood splinters and the best part is that the added length allows for me to cut the entire length of any paper I'm ever going to be using in my printer. And two in a pack... for when the wife abscounds mine! These are all that we need.
