Exactly what I was looking for. The separation is tight if you want it closed. I want to slide a ribbon through the slit and was able to jam a knife into the separation to open it up a sliver. The loop sill remained tight.

I was thrilled to get these in the mail! I think you get a lot of bang for your buck and can see how they would work wonderfully for many projects like belts, aprons, purses, etc. However I bought these to make dog collars for my dog (she is 70 pounds). They are the perfect size however I did not read the thickness before purchasing or take note that it was not welded. I made one collar and took her on a walk to try it out and at the end of the driveway she saw a neighbor (who she loves) and pulled to say hi and it was like the D ring wasn't even there. It completely bent apart without any resistance and my dog took off to the neighbor. Thank goodness she caught her. Like I said this is my error for not reading the fine print and assuming it could hold my 70 pound dog. So no negative feelings towards the seller. Just putting this out here in case someone who is reading the reviews wonders if this works for big dog collars. In my experience this specific product is not the best choice for that craft.

I ordered these for a sewing project. I use them for my pie cozy to loop the straps. They are exactly what I was looking for. Love the color options. They are sturdy and will last awhile.
