There is 1 big differences between the "cheap" step-up rings and the "decent" step-up rings.The cheap garbage ones (that you'll get for $4 or $5 cheaper than this one) are STAMPED and not MACHINED.The cheaper stamped step-up rings always seem like they have wonky threads to me, and I've managed to cross-thread one or 2 in my life, and after struggling with that, I decided to never try to save $5 on a step-up ring again.THIS step-up ring is MACHINED via CNC. That means the threads are going to be MUCH smoother and easier to thread on and off.You can pick up a cheaper step-up ring than this for $5 less. And the first time you cross-thread an expensive filter on a cheap step-up ring, you'll wonder why on earth that $5 was so important to you. Take a word of very kind advice. Spend the extra $5 and get a quality step-up ring. I have thousands of dollars in filters, I have more money in filters than many folks have in all their camera gear. I take them seriously. And the accessories too. You will be much happier spending $15 for this, than $10 for a piece of garbage.Seeing as this fit my Canon 28-70 f2.8 II, taking my 82mm up to a 95mm to fit a nice light pollution filter I recently acquired, and fit without issue or problem, and felt super-smooth while screwing it on, I have no choice but to say "5 stars all the way" and give it a big thumbs up.

I'm a convert to these Amopofo rings; they're well-made and though made from (I presume) aluminum, the threads are well-machined, screw-in effortlessly, and don't easily cross-thread. They're the next thing to brass rings (if you can find those) at a fraction of the price.When it comes to the 95-82 step-down I can report that there is no vignetting--a common problem with step-down, especially with wider lenses--with my 400mm f/4.5 NIKKOR lens.The only issue is there doesn't seem to be one central source for the brand. It seems every time I order a ring it's from a different distributor.
