I used this with some 1/8 inch plastic-coated wire clothesline to harden a loop to hang a bird feeder. Very nice.

I purchased these 5/16†thimbles for 7x19 5/16†wire rope and they are way too small. Unless your cable is as flexible as rope you will not be pleased. I tried a second time on 1/4†wire rope and they work, but small even for that cable. If your planning something that will have anything near the WLL of 5/16†or 1/4†cable I would keep looking.

You are looking at these because you know you need them...otherwise you are going to bend the heck out of your wire rope and eventually cause it to fatigue and break. These are a necessity if you are putting any amount of weight on your wire loops so if you are like me it comes down to quality vs price. These easily pass the quality. I didn't see any surface defects, bends or problems. Price is maybe a little bit higher than some others, but as I said...this passes the quality so I'm good with that.I have a 1/16" (2/32") wire and I got the 3/32" size. So it is probably larger than it needs to be, as you can see by the picture that wasn't a problem. These are easy to use since it just means placing this in your loop before you crimp the wire and your good (don't leave enough of a gap to allow the thimble to fall out).No problems recommending these...especially if you need them.

I bought these for a project I'm working on in the garage to secure my roof racks to the ceiling of the garage for storage. They are both large and in the way - and I hate leaving them outside, even covered, for extended periods of time because Florida is tough on everything. I needed these to loop the ends of the cable that the carabiner would hook onto. That carabiner will then hook onto a u-bolt on the roof rack and in theory...hoist away. I found these to be light but not garbage...just not heavy. They are galvanized so they will hold up (better) to the salty air and humidity and they're the perfect size for the project. One I looped the cable and secured it, they did a great job of what they were designed for so I am happy with the size, the durability and the price is reasonable. These are definitely worth it.

These are good galvanized steel thimbles. I will be using these with some wire rope to help fell some trees. I will be using the wire to help make sure the tree does not fall in the wrong direction as that could lead to a ruined fence and a big fence repair.
