I bought these after re-wiring my boat trailer a 2nd time and finding the lights not working. I suspect mice eat the wires, and chasing breaks/shorts in the trailer tubes is a pain. I bought these and plugged them in and they just work. Cheaper and easier than rewiring the trailer yet again. I was not sure how well they would hold on the highway and dirt roads I go down, so I zip-tied the lights to the back cross bar on the trailer and put a couple zip ties around the wires to secure them to the trailer. Worked great. When I got to my destination, just took them off and put them in the basement until next time. I'll never wire the trailer again.I don't dunk my trailer, but if I did I'd just take them off and put them back on again. It takes maybe 2 minutes.

These lights work exactly as advertised. I used them on a motorcycle carrier and drove from Chicago to Arizona several times with no issues. They went threw rain, ice and snow with no problem. The brightness is ok. Each light only has one bulb, so it will light up when you brake, or blink as a turn signal. It has no brightness levels, so it is either off, on or blinking. The magnets hold well, although I alway added tape just to be safe, so I don't know if they would hold at highway speeds on their own. Great product for the price.

The good, they work and the cable is plenty long enough for any use I have put it to. The bad the magnets could be a little stronger, I have lost one of them off the car twice do to a pot hole in the road.

I'm not highly surprised by the quality of this item, after all, it cost $13. In my case I didn't want to spend the money or effort rewiring my utility trailer so this is a decent alternative in order to stay street legal. Plastic housing is very cheap and I would not recommend using this light kit for long travel or on the highway unless you take the time to secure it on your tow vehicle with something other than the equipped magnets. It's good for traveling on local roads/streets but the wind will blow them off at highway speeds. My set arrived with a blown bulb and I had to be very, very careful when removing the cover in order to replace the bulb. This light kit is basically glued together. Light output is not very bright but it's good enough to keep the law from pulling you over. I definitely don't see this kit lasting very long. So in short, if you're going to tow a small trailer (or other vehicle) short distances and not drive very fast while remaining street legal then this kit is for you. If you're looking for a reliable, weather resistant, bright and well made kit......look elsewhere.UPDATE: 4/23/2014, Stay away from this product at ALL cost! Do yourself a favor and put the $13 towards a better set. I've had these lights less than a year and threw them in the garbage last week. Complete fail!

I bought these to replace a magnetic set I use on a utility trailer. My previous set worked great for many years until they got dipped in saltwater, and corroded up. These started out just fine. Hooked right up, and they were nice and bright. I really liked the amber lamps in the front. You can tell if your lights are working just by looking in the mirror! No need to get someone else to watch while you hit the brakes. The problem I had with them is the magnetic bases were totally weak. I went over a small bump at low speed, and one of them popped off, and hit the pavement. I was able to stop right away, and pick up the pieces, and put it all back together. The second time this happened, I was not so fortunate. I was going highway speeds in traffic, and could not stop quickly. The lenses disintegrated, and the base was dragged for a few hundred feet. This rendered the lights un working, and I tossed them in the trash. Ohh I did Save the bulb out of the 1 lamp, and the wire off of them. So at least I got something for the money.

This product is versatile in using with our 2 trailers and vehicles we tow. So far there have been no issues and they work well.

Works perfect, the price is right. Can't speak for the strength of the magnets as I opted for a semi-permanent mounting. A slight caveat is that there appears to be a split second delay between when the tow vehicle brake lights illuminate and when these illuminate, but this may be the case with many other trailer lighting systems.

It works they way it is supposed to. I bought it for my truck. I don't have a trailer so I put everything into the truck's bed. When the item I'm carrying sticks past the lowered tailgate, I put these lights on it so there isn't any mistake as to where the end of the load is to vehicles following behind me. They may not see a small flag attached to the lumber, but they can't miss the lights. All I did was attach them to a piece of metal (all of which fits in the toolbox) which I then strap to the end of the load and plug them into my trailer light plug ... PERFECT.
