My first time using these connectors and I have to say they worked better than I expected. You get the best of both worlds soldier and heat shrink at the same time I truly found a new way of connecting wires together and knowing that the wires will connect together when done correctly.

Solder quality is top notch. Never knew there was much difference in the quality of these things til I started using them so much. Some the solder won’t melt good or the plastic outside will melt too quickly, but not these!lPrice was incredible. I recieved them pretty quickly, but on time. Great quality. Highly recommended and wouldn’t hesitate to buy again if need be !A+++++And as always super fast shipping from Amazon!!

I was super excited to find these yesterday. I needed to extend some 24 AWG wire runs. I have wire to splice in, and I do have a solder, an iron, and shrink sleeving. But this seemed so much easier. Not really.Each piece of splice has a different size tube on each end. I needed the smallest size for connecting 24 AWG wires. On the smaller tube side, the wires were difficult to insert. I ended up stretching them with a nail, and got it to work. Also, on the larger side of the splice, if the wire insulation is a bit smaller than the tube they have a tendency to slip out. I spent about 2 hours making 8 splices, including running wire and such. I think I could have cut off at least 30 minutes with my own supplies if I was working on a bench, maybe even more time. However, it was nice with a heat gun to install the splices where they will be used, instead of on a work bench. Installing the splices in place would have been much more inconvenient with standard tools.Time will tell if they hold up in a quasi sheltered environment outside, at least they won't be directly exposed to the sun. All spices held and functioned fine during initial handling.Update, I found a wiring error that needed to be changed, so I experimented and tried the red splice, which is stated to be for use on 22 - 18 AWG wire. It worked better on my 24 AWG than the smaller size. Better solder flow, faster acting, and easier to use. Don't be afraid to size up.

Try as I might I could not get the solder to melt using my heat gun. The plastic tubing would shrink but the solder would not flow. I found them useless.
