Reviewing: WelderElite 4" x 5/8" Grinding Discs for Angle Grinder Rust Paint Stripping Wheels, Metal & Wood Surface Cleaner-Black Between restorations, modifications and custom fabrications, I do a lot of metal work. I've used stripper discs ever since they came out with them because of how effective and efficient they are at cleaning any metal surface down to bare metal. Rust, paint, even epoxy is gone in seconds. I can't imagine ever going back to wire wheels (although I still use wire wheels to get into tight corners). A few pro-tips for using these discs:• Work from the center of a surface out to the edges - going from the edges in will wear these down much faster.• Let the tool do the work - use only a little pressure. The work will go faster, and the discs will last longer.• Don't try to get into tight corners with these discs - you'll only end up overheating them and leaving melted polymer swirls on top of the corner you didn't get clean, and (you guessed it) burn through the discs faster than necessary. I've been trying to figure out the different grits associated with the different colors, but I haven't found any definitive answers so it may be that the color and grit are not always related. That being said, these black discs do seem to be a bit softer material than the blue and purple ones I usually use.I hope this helps!

I'm honestly very impressed by these. I was skeptical on how well they would work and what their capabilities would be, as well as their lifespan. These are now one of my favorite grinder attachments. If you need something that takes off mill scale from mild steel these work great. If you are looking for something to remove automotive paint all the way down to the metal these are very quick at it. I was kind of surprised because the first time I touched a painted surface it was down to metal almost immediately in the spot that I touched. I do like the size and shape of these. It makes it easy to get into curves. They last for an okay amount of time too. As you use them they just get smaller. I attached a picture so you can see a brand new one next to one that is still going, but probably should be retired. Even in its worn state it still removes mill scale from steel very easily and quickly.

I have an old hand-me-down Estwing hammer that I've been using for 25+ years and wouldn't hand over for a Stiletto, call me sentimental if you like. It's an ugly beast, that someone must have left out who knows where for who knows how long, but it has character. Enter the angle grinder with a nice grinding disc and few minutes of elbow grease.You can see the before and after photos for yourself (camera didn't capture it perfectly... unfortunately). The sun was already setting and I didn't have great light, so I only spent a few minutes tackling the worst of the surface rust, but the grinding disc did it's job and did it well. It's not too aggressive, so I didn't have to worry about ruining my hammer, but it's plenty aggressive enough to get the rust off. I'll take another go at it when I have some good light and a little more time and expect that my old hammer will really shine through.I expect that these discs will prove to be versatile for a myriad of tasks and look forward to adding them to my arsenal. Good stuff.

Fantastic rust remover. I wasn't sure how effective these would be, but they work great. They do wear out, of course, but this is a big pack. Don't forget the safety gear, especially from the dust.

I got these for removing scale from steel because it's far less expensive to order it in its unfinished state, for comparison it's akin to paint removal. They work well for my purpose however they didn't reinvent the wheel here. While easy to use, and average length of life, and prices in the same arena as other similar products I'd say if you are satisfied with your current brand, there's no reason to switch. If you're new and looking for a decent product this will more than likely suit your needs.

These are good quality and work really well. They work and last as long as any I've used in the past. I use similar disks that are smaller and have their own shaft in my die grinder and they work well but I had never used this type of disk on my angle grinder. I'm glad to say they work just as well or in some cases better because they are bigger so they work faster, the small ones are still better for tighter work but these definitely clean larger surfaces a lot faster. The quality is excellent even though it's not a major brand, they're probably made in the same factory as some of the big brands. The price is great for a dozen.

I got these to remove paint as deep as the scratches that are in the truck that I'm restoring. Oh My Goodness, I wish I had gotten some of these before prior jobs that I had done before. It will quickly remove all of the paint and not dig into the bare metal underneath. I do recommend wearing clear lenses/goggles when using this though. I can have a tendancy to fling off some chuncks of the grinding wheel. I highly recommend these to anyone that plans to do exterior automotive repair and needs to remove excessive paint or rust.
