The Velcro piece can be used to hold against itself as well as using the attached buckle for around a pipe or pole. Then just hang whatever you're hooking up to another hook. Great deal. I thought these were going to be much better than they are. The hooks themselves are plastic and are not very big diameter wise. I don't think this is going to hold up a winter coat in my portable fish house, so I purchased some significantly more expense aluminum hooks for that. These will be fine for hanging smaller items like hats and gloves, or maybe a light or something, but they are definitely not heavy duty.The are fine for what they are, and there are alot of them for a smaller fish house, so I'll probably try to give a few of them away.
