I bought this for adding bulk heads to plastic tanks. This thing is amazing. It's much larger than anything i could find at the major retailers. Caution: watch the hands. When you put it on don't have your hands within reach. When this thing spins it will hurt you. Does a great job and good quality. Love it.

Was trying to drill through light sheet metal and this thing made no progress. Got out one of my old ones that were not that big and drilled out easily. This is poor quality so don’t bother to buy

This is a nice step drill to have in your bin of tools most step drills available at your local stores are not available in this size. Bigger step drill is great now you don’t have to elongate the hole with the Dremel or carbide bit… again great tool to have great price

This is a nice "little" step bit, ranging from .25" to 2" (I said little, right?). I found that it handles softer materials such as plastic, aluminum, wood, is no challenge for this bit, but harder steel is a challenge. Additionally, understand that these bits are not intended for really thick material, and the steps on this bit are about 3mm apart. I wouldn't suggest going beyond about 2-2.5mm thickness on your material, or you will end up with the incorrect hole size. A step bit of this size would be best used in a drill press. It's a great tool, just understand what it can, and cannot do.

Works well in plastic, however, the large shank size makes it hard to fit most standard chuck sizes.
