I do my own waxing and sharpening of skis. So many here to the pack but buying two was more expensive than this huge amount of bands. They will outlast my lifetime! Perfect brake retainers and lifted them up nicely as one would expect for maintenance. I'm sure there are other uses for them, but I just needed them for ski tuneups.

For years I have used a piece of wire to hold the brakes back while tuning/waxing our skis. This method has brought blood on more than one occasion…These are very thick and strong rubber bands. They provide the strength to hold the brakes in the UP position to allow you to work easily. Please note that you need to manually lift the brakes to the up position and then connect the bands…duhhhhh….They are stronger than I expected. I don’t know what the longevity will be, but for now…these are great! Thanks!MY PERSONAL COMMENTS:I am an approved Amazon Vine Member. We are provided the opportunity to order (free of charge) many items that are new to the market, or where a seller just wants some additional exposure for their product. We are NOT required to review every item in exchange for using it. I personally only order products that are important to me (items I can use), or items that I have the ability to properly test (I have lots of test equipment) so that I can provide an honest evaluation & review (and not always a 4 or 5 star) based upon my use and testing of the product. Thanks…feel comfortable with any information I provide in a review.

Yes they are thick and sturdy and do what they are supposed to do as far as skis go.

These are exactly the same length, thickness and stiffness as the two that came with my Racewax ski tuning kit, which is a good thing, as those ones are beefy. So now I have another 16 of them... great when I'm waxing 2 or more pairs of skis at the same time, so I can leave the brakes retained while I swap skis and let the others cool. These are perfect for my 100-110 skis, they might be a little big if you have some crazy skinny skis like 75 underfoot (if those even exist). Also, my Salomon shift bindings sometimes get iced up in certain snow conditions and the brakes can pop down while I'm touring uphill. Throwing a couple of these in my pocket provides an easy fix when this starts to happen, instead of having to stop and dig snow out of the small moving parts.

Not much to say—these are essentially big rubber-bands. But, they do exactly what they’re meant to do. I just tuned several sets of skis the other day and was grateful to have these holding the brakes up and out of the way of my working on the bases. And it’s great to have more than just a couple—I was able to “prep” several sets of skis with these brake retainers and then work on them all without having to stop and uninstall and then reinstall on the next pair. Much more efficient to have all 8 skis I was working on ready to go and be able to move from one to the next without interruption. All in all, very pleased with them.

Not much to say besides these are a great alternative from using rubber bands and tighter than those commenrative wrist bands you see for every cause out there. There are thick and sturdy and fit my skis perfectly. They smel just like a bag of rubber bands, which is basically what they are but small enough to fit you ski brakes and much more thick and sturdy. These are plenty and I would expect them to last quite a while based on their durability. No complaints with this product.

I have been using all sorts of things to hold the ski bindings back while waxing or repairing my skis. I finally now have something that holds it perfectly in place and easy to use. They work as expected and provided more then I needed.
