They do their job nicely keeping the books upright and because they are clear you don’t focus on them, you focus on the books. Notice you do you need to peel the film off of them to make them clear. Using zoom you see a lot of other people’s bookcases behind their computer and you notice when people have papers and books that are leaning and look a bit disheveled. I know it’s not that important but it makes me feel good

First of all, these bookends ARE clear. They come shipped with a frosted protective plastic covering that is easy to peel off. If the previous one star reviewer had bothered to actually READ the product description, the aforementioned individual would’ve known that instead of throwing a ratings temper tantrum!These bookends are as advertised and are a good quality. They are a bit on the small size, but I bought them for that reason so that they fit my paperback books. I am pleased with this product.

These plexiglass bookends were a great find for the price. There is one issue that looses them a star however - the protextive film on each side of the bookend is extremely difficult to remove. The protective film is so thin, you can't easily start it to remove them. It took me half an hour to unwrap one box.. and some really raw fingernails from doing so. Aside from that, they look great, and are supprisingly thick plexiglass for the price.

The protective lining on the acrylic is a little hard to get off if you don't have good nails but it's worth it, the pieces arrived undamaged. Exactly the right touch I needed to organize my new bookshelf.

I have been replacing all my old bookends with these beautiful clear see through bookends. They are the perfect size for CDs. They also work well for DVDs and books. I can now see the covers of my music and movies and books that were covered up by all my old style bookends. I had no trouble removing the frosty protective film with a fingernail before using. For big books I found two bookends on each end work perfectly. I paid much more for all the old metal bookends I'm replacing. I highly recommend these bookends.

There is a film on both sides of each piece that is close to impossible to remove. Why? This should not be so difficult to remove. Use paper instead or put tabs on the film to pull it off.

I was about to return these bookends thinking they were very murky and not clear at all, but then wondered if maybe there was a protective film over them and, after awhile, realized there was. Once I peeled off the layers (on the inside and outside of each bookend), the bookends were extremely clear. It may be difficult to find the ends of the film, but keep at it. Once you peel them, beautiful, clear bookends at an excellent price.
