Take note that this is a set of 3-way switches. That is when you have the light switch at each end of the hall or stairway. That is why the LED is on the top and bottom of the switch - because on/off can be either way. If you are just putting it on a normal (single light) switch you do not need these. That said, these work as described and there is nothing I could see that would make them undesirable (ie no fire hazards). They work and provide a little light at the switch when the main light is off.

Do not think the light on the switch is a night light. It is not. It is a light for you to see when you are trying to locate the switch in the dark. Works perfectly and expected.

Installed just like any 3 way switch, but these have an LED night light function. But the odd part is depending which position the switch is in, the night light points up or down as they are on of the rocker part of the switch. So sometimes the light is not pointing down which seems odd for a night light, I would prefer a fixed LED on the bottom of the switch. Other than that they are a really nice upgrade.

On this model, those little LED indicator lights luminates Above or Below the toggle switch depending on which is protruding from the wall. More noticeable on a two way light switch where On/Off position varies.

I am disabled and walk on crutches. The hall switches had the flipper sticking out and occasionally they took a bite of my arm. These haven't bitten me at all and look excellent.

I was replacing a non-lighted standard size 3 way switch with this one. It doesn't really illuminate the area much (that may be a plus if you want to use it in a bedroom for example), but it does make finding the switch in the dark easier. The wiring was the same as what I already had, so installation was simple. To prevent getting confused on which wire went to which post, I only disconnected one wire from the old switch and then connected it to the new switch before moving to the next wire. Don't forget (like I did) to order a white switch plate if you're replacing a standard size switch with this one as that is not included.

The instructions refer to a "bottom" logo on the unit which wasn't evident on mine. From other reviews, I surmised that there was only a light on one side of the paddle. My units actually have lights at both ends, thus eliminating the need for a specific orientation--and no "bottom." I believe for most people this is a benefit.

The switch does what it is advertised to do, but that really isn't a good solution to the problem like SnapPower Switchlights are. If you can use one of those, they are easier to install and work better. My problem is that i have rocker switches and not toggles and my switches in the bathroom are in a 3-gang plate. So no switch plate is made that size with a night light in it. So i tried this switch. When you install a rocker, in off position (lights off), the bottom part is compressed and flush with the plate, so to use as a night light, you must mount the light pointed up. This means your slightly blinded by the light at night when your trying to see in dim light. If they light was down, like in a switch plate, then your eyes would be shielded and the floor lit.I'm not sure what case this light would really work. If you can accept mount the rocker upside-down and live with the unorthodox operation, then it might work for you.A better product would be something that hangs out the bottom and the connection goes under the switch plate and connects to a rocker switch. Or a rocker switch with a protrusion that is the light and pointed down. If the protrusion is in the middle of the switch it might be ok.

I don't have an outlet at the top of my stairs, but I really wanted a nightlight. I have some of the outlet covers that light up without blocking the outlets, so I thought these light switches would be the perfect option. However, they really are only useful for indicating where the light switch is, and maybe that's all you're looking for. For me though, it doesn't light the stairwell at all, so I'm a little disappointed. Easy to install though.

it was easy to replace my existing three-way switch at the top and bottom of the stairs with this pair of switches with LED built-in. The wiring was exactly the same. There is a light on the top and bottom edge of each switch, with a light sensor on the switch itself. Note that the LED function is completely independent from whether the light is on or off, and is just based on the ambient light level, like a plug-in night light without using a plug. The light is soft and unobtrusive, but sufficient to see the stair steps.

I have to do some rewireing to use these. Have to pigtail or find aluminum screws.Bought these for the hallway switches so i can see in the dark hallway as have to keep doors closed so orange cat doesnt destroy the bathroom and run off with the drain plug for the tub. Just a little upgrade and renew as well
