I'm really impressed by these illuminated light switches. They're just bright enough so you can see them when you walk into a dark room. Don't expect night lights, because that's not what they're designed for. The installation was very easy, and took about 10 minutes from start to finish for 2 switches. I plan on changing out all of my old wall switches to these.

After my son returned home from being gone for a week, he found a receptacle that had caught on fire, and had caused an implosion in the television set. As a result, we went through every receptacle and switch in the house to make sure nothing like this would ever happen again. These switches worked well with standard and three-way connections. Interestingly, an electrician told us it would cost $20,000 to repair all the switches and receptacles, but it only cost us about $120 to replace everything. One thing that we learned was that a surge is not circuit dependent, and that a true surge damages many, if not all, circuits, and other local residences electrical systems as well. My son had been told by an unethical electrician that he had a surge that caused his problem and that everything had to be replaced.
