Step 1
When using, first loosen the wire rope or galvanized iron wire on the wire tightener and fix it on the cross arm;
Step 2
Clamp the wire with a clamp and then pull the special wrench to gradually wind the wire rope or galvanized iron wire due to the anti-reverse action of the pawl.
Step 3
On the ratchet roller, tighten the wire and fix the tightened wire on the insulator; Then loosen the pawl to loosen the wire rope or galvanized iron wire, and loosen the wire clamp.

Strap was well made but the winch was junk. The handle bent immediately and wouldn't stay lined up. Kept sticking on the release. Cheaply made. Look for a more solidly built unit.

The rachet workings seem a little cheap. Sorta like cheap metal. It's okay for the price. The strap is great to have.

The quality compared to other manufacturers is poor. The cable comes off the track and gets wedged in. Very difficult to operate. Threw it away after the first use.

I bought this to make some repairs to my chain link fence prior to selling my house. Though this product did end up working for me with some effort, the release function does not work. You will be left releasing pressure turn by turn at a slower rate than you can crank it. If I was buying this to use often I would not recommend it or if you would be under higher pressures as you wouldn't be able to safely release it. For what I did with some minor repairs it did the job, just not well at all. It's comparable to a harbor freight tool and that should be your expectation if you buy it.
