I’m using this for my well that supplies the water to my upstairs heat pump. It has a little well house but can still freeze, I’m sure. I replaced the heat lamp that was there when I bought the property with this cord. The cord looks and feels good quality. You can tell from the cord whether it’s cheap or not usually, and this one feels quality. The plug and clips are nice quality too. I didn't the clips for a his but did use them for hanging icicle lights—being metal, they will last much longer than the plastic ones I used before which snapped after a year. Anyhow, this cord seems to work well. You can feel the warmth. I wrapped all pipes in my well house thoroughly and haven’t had an issue with them freezing yet.

We had some issues with ice going under the edge shingles of our roof last year and decided to try these deicing cables. They were easy to install, according to my husband, who was able to do the job in only a few hours. We haven’t had any snow or ice yet this winter, but we’ll be ready when it does come.
