These are heavy duty hydraulic pistons that will definitely keep whatever you want open when you lift the hatch up .

They do there job. The ONLY problem was that they came uncompressed. We had to use a floor jack and a tow strap to compress them so they could be installed. I did end up making some different brackets out of angle iron because the ones that came with it bent. I don't know if they bent because of the way we had to install them or because of cheap metal. I would recommend this for purchase by anyone that has mechanical skills. If they came compressed it would have saved me a lot of time and effort.

I bought these easy to install, good value for the money, fit good but were too heavy duty for what I needed them for so have to return and purchased some 23lb ones

If you’re trying to lift a bed, don’t buy these. The brackets are terrible. They have no hardware. The instructions are terrible. And I’m someone who can do most handyman jobs. I’ve built furniture and boats so I know my way around tools. Do not buy these.

I had to modify the way these are oriented versus the OEM struts. A bit time consuming to install due to the modification of orientation. The product is very good. Instructions are not easy to follow. They function as they should.

I built a large cabinet for the outdoor TV. I purchased the 23” arms to hold up the 46” door that weighs 35lbs. It took a few tries to get the arms in the right position to hold the door open at 90 degree angle. The arms to too strong and don’t allow the door to stay shut so I had to add (2) clasps to lock the door closed. Simple fix- directions say the arms need to be about 1/2 the length of the door.

The struts themselves seem decent and well made, however the mounting brackets provided are design in such a way that they need to withstand a significant amount of lateral force and are not robust enough to support the '200lb strut' I ordered. It looks like the same brackets are provided whether you order the 10lb strut all the way up to a 200lb strut. When first installed with a single mounting bracket, the bracket started to buckle under the weight. Doubling up the mounting brackets solved that issue but you'll then need to buy additional brackets to install the second strut, so be prepared for that. 5 stars for the struts, 1 star for the brackets

My experience, struts delivered on time, unpacked it try to compress strut could not move it. Drove 45 mins. to install the strut, 20 minutes tu customize the location to install the small hinges. Put the strut on and it won't compress, the rod just bows with wait on it. Tried the second strut same result. Drove 45 mins home tried to google help desk, service, even the company no luck. Check the box no instructions. Wrap a 500 pd ratchet around the ends put my full weight on the rod and with the ratchet was able to compress the strut an inch and a half. Waste of my time returned item.
