One of the clamps worked very well. The other one broke at the bend and to be fair I broke it putting an unusual ammount of torque on it, a lot more than anyone would probably ever need in any given 'normal use' situation. I must admit they are quite strong.

These Exhaust clamps are good quality, The bands are stainless steel and the bolt and nut is coated steel. I have installed these and they work good. I recommend them.

Very capable substitute for factory clamps, and quicker cheaper and just as substantial.

PLUS: This is a true, narrow width 2-1/2†butt joint clamp, which are harder to find on Amazon (not sure why Amazon placed my review under the 2-1/4" size). Most are designed for clamping over the OD of a larger slip joint (oversized). Those others are somewhat similar to a conventional exhaust U-Bolt (which this is NOT).PLUS: The band is very thick, I measured it at .08†(2.0mm) which is about 14 gauge. This is VERY good if you need to weld a support rod to it, which is what I intend to do. Much more preferable than welding to a thinner stainless exhaust pipe.NEUTRAL: The band thickness means you really need to crank down on the bolt to get the band to form correctly around the aluminum extrusion if you use it as a true butt joint clamp. If so, I suggest you first coat the bolt threads with anti-seize compound to prevent thread galling and help in future disassembly. I used a nickel-based, high heat type for this but I suspect that was overkill. I think standard anti-seize compound should be fine. I’d also strongly suggest a liberal coating of Permatex 80335 muffler and tailpipe sealer to fill any gaps around the band at the butt joint and around the aluminum extrusion if you’re using it as a true pipe to pipe butt joint as opposed to just an add-on (thicker) welding surface.MINUS: I doubt very much that this is 304 stainless as it is highly magnetic, much more likely a grade 4 stainless. Time will tell as I’ll compare the discoloration and corrosion of the 304 stainless pipe (not very magnetic at all) to this clamp band.MINUS: The aluminum extrusion on both of the units I got were somewhat malformed (see pic). Both had a bit of a curve, not at all straight. That’s also a reason I suggest the use of Permatex 80335 to fill in any gaps.SUMMARY: Pretty good, but not 5 stars, I rounded up my rating of 3.5 to 4 stars. Very usable, solid, so far seems fit my needs. Fix the aluminum extrusion to get to 4. IF IT’S TRULY 304 STAINLESS, it gets a 5 (but honestly, I do not think it’s 304). With that said, I did order two more in the 2-1/4†size to do the smaller post muffler tail pipes on a C1 Corvette.

Installed on 2.25 pipe just fine. Great clamp especially for the price.
