I got this for all of those times when a screw drops somewhere smaller than my hand will reach, and it does exactly what I want it to in those situations. It’s small and compact when you’re not using it (think pocket thermometer if you’ve ever worked in a kitchen) and has a pocket clip so it can go just about anywhere. Plenty of magnet strength for screws, nuts, washers, even some smaller bolts. If it can’t pick it up, it will at least drag it which is sometimes enough. Getting three is nice so I can stash them in various places and always have one at hand. It extends smooth and has help up to my using it as a bit of a fidget toy, so that shows it should be plenty durable. Overall this is a good little tool to add to any workshop for light tasks.

I was changing the alternator in my wife's van the other day and dropped a screw. It landed on the skid plate rather than falling through to the ground. I could see it but i couldn't really get to it. If i had one when I was working on the van, i wouldn't have wasted so much time.This tool opens and closes smoothly and the magnet at the end is reasonably strong. I like that it's a set of three so I can keep one in the garage, one in the basement, and one in my tool box.The only negative is that the pointy end of the clip is very sharp on the ones I got. One of them actually drew blood, so i took a minute and filed them all down a bit, now they're great.
