The drill bit cut through the metal very well indicating although this was apparently was made in China, the steel in the boot was decent quality. Also, the tap cut very well using a cordless drill on low speed. Again decent quality steel. The coils themselves were stainless steel and threaded well.

I used this to repair threads in the cylinder head of a Yamaha V8 engine, where the intake manifold bolts onto the head. The kit worked superbly.

Worked perfectly to hold the valve cover to the cam caps on my 97 Suzuki GSF1200 Bandit. Wrecked one insert due to lack of pressure when attempting to thread into tapped threads, but otherwise worked great. Just make sure they are drilled straight and you shouldn't have a problem. Will see how they hold up once I get some heat cycles in them, but seemingly fixed my stripped cam caps.

I ordered this Helicoil kit to repair a stripped-out cylinder stud mount on my Vespa engine. This is a critical application that has to withstand the stress and strain of the engine firing. Even though the stripped hole was in a hard-to-reach location, the sharp drill bit and tap centered and straightened themselves in the aluminum case. I got a perfect repair and was riding again in short order. Some experience with tools is necessary for good results, but these tools are good enough to get the job done on a shoestring budget.

Spring twisted up and broke off inside the head of my motor. Ended up having to drill it out as well, and oversize the hole because of this (which is what I did not want to do in the first place). Cheap Junk do not recommend.
