This is the smartest garden tool that you never knew you needed. Prevents breaking off roots when pulling plants out of those small square pack containers. So easy to pull out a plant and keeping it intact! Well worth it!

They will be useful even though they are larger than I expected.

Love these tongs. They are perfect for removing seedlings from trays! The angle is just right so the seedlings slide out without any damage and you can get the entire root and growing medium without having to cut open the tray. Get them. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

After squeezing up the soil and plant matter in 1020 tray cells, these tongs made it very easy to transplant seedlings. Any other method would require 3 hands to do well, but these tongs allowed me to use a free hand to prep potting soil around the sides of the destination pot.

I like that they are stainless steel, and having 3 sets is nice if you have a helper, are prone to losing tools, or just want to keep one set in the greenhouse, one at the potting bench, and one for roaming. They are reasonably finished, though I suspect one could get cut if they ran their fingers along the edges. Easy to pinch with; not stiff at all. They're kind of big, though, and that limits usefulness. The pics show their minimal reach into small starting trays, just maybe half an inch or so, which isn't enough to get seedlings out. Also, they are a little curved rather than straight, which means they tend to mash the soil a little bit, rather than sliding straight down the sides.I'll keep them for use with bigger pots, and will try to cut down one pair to make a narrower, tapered end that will fit the smallest pots.ETA: The last pic shows the cut-down pair, and it's perfect! (If you do this, wear protective equipment because until filed, the cut edges are sharp, and the cutting can make sparks) Manufacturer, if you read this, please consider selling a set of 2 plain ones and one angled pair for smaller flats.

This is perfect for transplanting my seedlings to the garden. And as an added bonus, it helps make the hole in the dirt too that's the perfect size.

Product is not as advertised. You cannot reach all the way in without destroying the tray. Tool is too long to reach into the tray and does a poor job of removing the seedling, and there are no anti-slip grasp tips. Useless. Be careful.
