The hardware on the top is pretty cheap. The ball valve on mine allows the vacuum to bleed off. This is probably fine to use for applications that don't require shutting off the vacuum pump. I wouldn't recommend it for resin infusion, without first upgrading the hardware.

Upon receiving this resin trap, as others have noted, it leaked. I found the hardware on the lid leaked. The rubber gaskets for each of the fittings were inadequate. After I replaced them and used some gasket maker, the pot seemed to hold vacuum for 3 or 4 infusion layups. On my last infusion, I could not get a reliable vacuum before starting the infusion. After much trial and error, I finally noticed that the 1/2" acrylic top had stress cracks at one of the fittings. Not good! So I replaced it with a piece of 3/16" aluminum plate.So, would I buy this trap again? Probably not. For the effort I put into making this trap air tight, I could of made my own!
