I was not sure this was going to work with my pump but it worked perfectly. I followed the install letter to the letter (ha ha) and the setup was easy. This held at 27.5 for 28 hours. I will put it to the test this weekend by stabilizing wood. I expect it to hold just like the test.

The vacuum pot arrived on time, was exactly as advertised, and works great. However I still don’t know what to with the square silicone pad that came with the unit.

There is no centering feature, so failure can occur if the lid is placed off center. When a vacuum is pulled, there is over 1500 lbs of force from atmospheric pressure pushing down on the lid. If the lid is placed off center, it can eventually slip into the chamber causing a rapid & energetic implosion. One of our employees was injured (glass in the eye, hearing loss) when our chamber imploded and shattered glass went flying.I contacted BVV, who apologized but still lists these products on their website. BVV needs to change this design before someone loses an eye or worse. Don't mess around with an inherently dangerous design, get a vacuum chamber with a hinged door or lid.
