Works great, i would have no complaints if I was using it in dirt, was hoping to use for my golden retriever at the beach but obviously with soft sand and a 75 pound dog, he can pull it out fairly easily. Wish there was an extension to screw deeper in the sand, but product works great and exactly as advertised. Nice durable quality and smooth retraction, surprisingly, it didn't clog with sand either. Great product just not for large dogs in sand.

I bought 2. One retracts if you mess with it over and over. The other one doesn’t retract at all. Used it once and the lead will not go back in at all.

I got this for my border collie, and honestly it does fine with her. I don’t understand all the negative reviews, mine’s holding up just fine. Granted she hasn’t ran on it full speed, but as a whole it’s holding up very well - would definitely recommend it.

I really loved the idea of giving my dog a much larger area to roam in the year. It was easy enough to drill into the ground. The assembly and installation is easy to get this set up.But, from there it is a bit of a disappointment. It is almost as if the mechanism were designed backwards. My dog finds it very difficult to pull the line out. She is 35 pounds and loves to pull, but this lead seems to confuse her. And, then once it is extended, it does not retract easily. So then my problem of the dog getting tangled is worse than the line I used to use.I am able to get it to retract, but it takes much more skill than my dog has.I may try to take it apart and see if I can adjust the mechanism some day. At least the line can still be used if I destroy it in the process.
