Protects flooring in front of wood burning stove from burning embers. Has a bit of a plastic feel and the dogs nails has marked it but otherwise it serves it purpose.

Super thin slippery plastic like material. Tarp-like, similar to cheap plastic grocery totes. Not entirely sure it’s really fire resistant! Less than two months after arriving the stitching along the edges unraveled and it began to develop holes. Poor quality stitching and material. The mat is very slippery on both sides. Slides under your feet and slides easily on the floor. If you’re looking for a heavy mat to protect the floor in front of your fireplace, please look elsewhere. This is NOT it.

I have this rug in front of her fireplace and it seems to work from the few sparks but is very cheap material on very thin but the fact that it’s fireproof I’m sure is a blessing so I gave it three stars… I expected a better quality

I purchased this to protect my new living room carpet. Even though I have a fireplace screen, anyone can tell you they don't actually protect from flying sparks very well. I had a lot of burn holes in the carpet to attest to that. When my carpet was replaced, I bought this asap. On the first cold night in Houston (LOL - the temps plummeted under 40'F a rare event for us) I pulled this out and it worked - sparks flew from the wood, a chunk broke off and more sparks. Saved my new carpet! Couldn't be happier. For me, the size was perfect and it was easy to clean up afterwards. Unfortunately I can't use it very often, but last winter I was able to use it a few times and wasn't disappointed with it at all. It appears to be of high quality and I think this should last me for many years of use.

The product worked with protecting the floor, but was extremely slippery when stepped on. The rug constantly kept moving when you would try to load the fireplace. Also looks very plastic and took forever to lay flat.
