Well-made grade 8 hex flange nuts. Not really lock nuts, but will hold better than standard hex nuts.Well-machined. Smooth, consistent yellow zinc coating. No complaints.

These are not what you might expect if you're only used to nylon locking nuts - these are all-metal lock nuts, sometimes referred to as prevailing torque locknuts. The last set of threads on the nut are intentionally deformed so that they grab onto the fastener, making it very difficult to remove these unless you actually mean it. They're particularly useful in environments where nylon locknuts would suffer, such as high heat areas. These are very sturdy, very heavy nuts with a strong zinc coating. The 5/8"-11 nuts have a 15/16" hex.

the description stated locking nuts and the photo shows the mark on the nut making it a lock nut. the bag is labled as locking nuts however i could screw every nut all the way down the bolt by hand. non-locking nuts. had to use liquid thread locker on everything since i didnt have time to wait for a new order to arrive.

Like to buy in bulk and have a few extras when I need them. This is a nice 25 pack of coarse thread, flanged, 3/8" grade 8 zinc plated hex nuts. They are well machined and nicely plated, unfortunately at the time of my order I think they are being sold at an exorbitant price ('bout 68 cent per). Price is not a criteria for my reviews – there would be too many variables if it were – every person and business knows what their labor and merchandise is worth to them. That said, I wouldn't purchase at current price – but they are definitely 5 Star grade 8. I imagine they'll be substantially cheaper in the future - that seems to be the way this world goes round. Thanks for Reading = Have an Incredible Life!

I have a lot of projects and got these because I know I'll use them. They seem to be of decent quality, they thread smoothly onto my thread-checker. The finish seems good too.Full disclosure: I got these on the Vine program, so they cost me very little. At $17 for a 25 pack they are double the price of a similar item at the local hardware store, so I wouldn't have paid that much for them

Absolutely no issues with threading/machining of these nuts. I can get them just a hair cheaper by the pound at the implement store but then that doesn't figure in the cost of making that trip. These get delivered to my doorstep so not a bad deal.

I've now used a few of the Maker's Bolts products and I'm very impressed. Yes, the hardware is made in China. But, theses sellers / distributors seem to be doing quality control and likely testing of the product. This review is for the Grade 8, 3/8"-16 TPI (threads per inch) flange nuts (yellow zinc nitrate coating). These came nicely packaged in a PE bag with a label identifying all of the characteristics and the quantity. The Grade 8 nuts look exactly like what I would get at my local hardware store--except at a half to 2/3rds the price. My bag was supposed to have (25) nuts and I counted (25). It seems like their fastener counter is getting better and better; I've been shorted one or two in the past but, for the most part, get the right amount or a few extra.I hope Makers Bolt keeps up the nice work of distributing quality hardware at a reasonable price.
