Got this for my athletic son. It's been a hit to everyone we show. It got passed around the guys on NYE to see who was the strongest. Lots of fun!

I got these out of curiosity, wanting to test my grip strength after rock climbing for a while. It works exactly as described! You twist a bolt to adjust the position of the handle then apply isometric force against the handle by squeezing. The display will show you whatever was your highest force achieved during the grip.It has a functionality where you can save multiple different grip profiles as different people, setting it for either male or female. I found this functionality to be a bit unnecessary and confusing to use, but if you want that, this has it. The interface beeps loudly, which is fine, but the order in which the buttons need to be pressed is unintuitive.I still recommend this device as it has good functionality, even if it takes a second to figure it out, and the quality is high!

Got two for families that are very athletic. They told me they played and had much fun - and will use with all their youthful friends. Great competition! I even ordered another!

When the description mentioned training, I thought I could use this to essentially be one device that I could replace other grip strength trainers with and do hand exercises at increasing resistance to strengthen my grip and forearms. It doesn't help that the pictures currently display people in workout poses like they are strength training with the device. However, this is strictly a measuring device. What looks like a blue readout in the picture is a silver spin knob that allows you to adjust the position (lower or higher) of the top grip that you wrap your 4 fingers around. You squeeze as tightly as you can (it won't move much) and then you will get a reading of your strength. For example, my right hand said 68 lbs and weak which doesn't make sense as their small pamphlet chart indicates this amount for my age would be strong so it doesn't seem to sync with their chart correctly. There are 19 users you can program for. This was confusing as at first as I thought the 19 was for holding for a period of seconds but it was just a user number. I also don't like that there is not a setting for right and left hand unless I am missing it. So, I'd essentially have to create a user number for each hand to measure separately and keep track of. This is doable but I'd think there would be an L and R instead or something similar. Ultimately, this is not a strength or grip training exercise piece as I see it but just something to measure your grip strength. So, keep at your grip and forearm exercises with whatever other methods you use then you can use this device to see if your grip strength is improving (for example as measured in lbs or kg).

I’ve been weightlifting for a little over a year now and am finding that my ability to lift is exceeding my grip. I’ve been working on it and this is a great way to test it. I like the ability to create profiles so everyone in the family can use it and it keeps track of the previous test. It works well but I don’t see it as lasting a long time. It’s a bit large but we don’t really need it to be portable.
