First off, no there are no instructions to these, but rightfully so, there are so many years each model can fit, not one general instruction manual will work in this case. What you will need is some basic knowledge of where your connections are. For my 2003 XLT F150 Super Crew, the harness is located under the headliner of the back seat of the cab. You need to just remove the pins and pull down the headliner to expose the wirinng For me, my harness was snaped in place in the frame of the car, but I was able to remove the old housing, grommet and all and take out the old wiring in about 10-15 minutes dending on how stubborn your headliner is. And for the record, YES IT IS PLUG AND PLAY. The harness fit, but needed a bit of force to snap into place, but once it did, the light worked and turned on immediately because I had my door open. I bought the smoked glass version and that worked out because it blended in with my tinted back window. The LEDs are super bright at night and day. Oh I forgot to mention the switch, which is more or less a gimmick, but it offers the setting of flashing 5 times when the brake is pressed, like euro lights or what they advertise, F1-like behavior lol. But it works, but I find it kind of odd, so I turned mine off. I also tucked my switch behind the housing itself so I am not sure how well that will be affected by the elements. I can always tuck it into the cabin if needed, but you will need to take down the headliner each time you want to access the switch and I find that more annoying than unscrewing two screws. But that's me. You may find it different. But in any event, these are a big win and great value so far. I hope these last! You will also keep your existing screws to reinstall this new light. There are no gaskets included, just very basic instructions that don't really help.

Leaves a gap all the way around i silconed all around and will see if it leaks next rain. Leds are ok at best. Is plug and play but you have to undo so body clips on the plug or you'll never get it plugged back in. Would not recommend. If/when it leaks ill have fun using it as target practice and buy oem led instead.

Just installed last night so can’t speak to longevity but seems like a quality piece. Has a double sided sticky gasket so might be a pain if it has to be removed, but led so hopefully lasts for years.

My Truck was in the shop getting repaired and I picked it up at 5 pm on a Friday, The first Pics are the before, My Dealership crushed my light on the lift and with it being on a weekend, there was nothing I could do through them anyway. of course I was mad, anyway, got home and found this replacement, ordered Friday and Got it the next day. The price was right, it was cheap compared to the dealerships cost, $60 verses around $250 for an original, it was a no brainer. If anyone out there who is considering a replacement, I highly recommend this light, they were cheap, they look great, and it works. The Install was relatively simple, item said it was for my truck and came with a plug to just hook it up, I might of messed up, but I couldn't find the plug on my truck, maybe I didn't dig deep enough, anyhow, I ended up cutting the ends off and using a wire connector to get the job done. My truck only had bulb sockets and no way for a simple replacement, But all in all I'm very happy with the product.

Was super excited to get it in the mail. My 2015 f150 has a crack in the OEM one. I need to replace it so I can put the protector over the rear of my cab. Got it out. Prepped the protector to install after I put the 3rd brake light in. Took the OEM one off. It doesn’t have a plug. I would have to cut the oem wiring. I will probably end up doing that vs sending it back. Just sucks I had it all prepped and didn’t know I would have to cut my OEM wiring. (The protector I’m talking about goes over the whole back edge of the cab so I can tie things down with my diamandback bed cover up against my truck bed. Going to be much easier getting things at Lowe’s bc it basically gives you a headache rack type thing to put stuff against. That edge protector goes slightly over the 3rd brake light. I have to install the new 3rd brake light first. I’m a very busy guy and stopped to do it. The build quality looks decent but not OEM build. If it were noted I’d have to cut the wiring, it would be much higher. I can’t speak to the brightness bc I didn’t get to wire it in yet. :-/

While inserting the electrical connection to the truck wiring harness, the locking tab broke off. So, the fit looked promising, pins lined up but would not insert far enough to lock it in. I was forced to tape it shut to find out if the unit works. The unit does work as advertised; however, I doubt I will keep it and will seek a replacement return credit. I can't see keeping a broken unit on a brand new installation.
