Seems to work great the polishing wheels are nice as for the wheels slinging strings and threads that's a normal thing with any polishing wheel no matter if they are made in the USA China wherever they all will sling some strings and threads until you charge it with polishing rouge so don't listen to all these other reviews about the wheels slinging strings and threads it's a normal thing I have been polishing aluminum for many years now and have bought a lot of different polishing wheels and every single one of them sling strings and threads

I needed a bit more control over buffing wheel speed than the 3250 default speed of a different 4-inch buffer that I purchased. The higher speed buffer works great for polishing out antique straight razor metal components but antique Bakelite and celluloid, as well as acrylics, require a slower wheel speed to avoid overheating. This wheel provides a slower default initial speed of 1750 rpm. I've buffed a couple of Bakelite razor scales and it shines them up very nicely. I think this is a good deal for anyone who polishes smaller items as it comes with cotton wheels that always produce flying strings regardless, a couple of polyethylene wheels (I think) for light material removal, safety eye googles, and a medium-sized stick of white buffing compound. A great kit for anyone just needing a basic buffing operation.

I like the extreme speed of the unit as this was the only one I could find with such incredible rpms. I don't care for the 6 cloth buffing wheels include as even with light pressure to buff, the dang things spit cloth and strings all over the place. It is horrible. The 2 abrasive wheels are great. They will probably be the only ones I end up using. I will likely opt for an 8inch buffer built in the USA that use high quality wheels that don't shred to pieces when the unit is just turned on.

This is great option for polishing on a budget. It feels like a tool from Harbor Freight which seems about right for this price point. It works great and I haven't had any issues yet.

Got this to use as a leather burnishing tool. Previously tried to convert a similar-sized bench grinder, but it just wasn't well suited for the task. This things works great with a leather burnishing wheel, and also at its normal polishing duties.

I use to refurbish tobacco pipes and related wood items. Variable speed is nice along with ease changing wheels.I have 2 one is fir finish work the other fir more aggressive work.
