I ordered this for a project that fell apart before this arrived—I should have ordered it sooner, since this almost surely would have kept my project from falling apart. Oh, well! This is a hefty set of plates and it will do an incredible job of holding together whatever it needs to be used for.The metal reminds me of a heavy duty door hinge, so I’m sure it has that kind of strength.Anyway, so yeah, I would certainly recommend this! Just get it ands use it BEFORE your project falls apart, lol!

These are some nice and heavy duty feelings mending plates, the screws feel lightweight and I've snapped the heads of these before. Don't cheap out on your hardware and you won't have issues, 4 stars wish they had better hardware.

This review is for the 4 Pcs Flat Mending Plate, 1.9''x3.9'' Black Stainless Steel Metal Flat Straight Brace Bracket.These are heavy duty plates that are handy to have around. I like that the holes are counter sunk and two different depth screws are included.I checked our local big box store and they had some that were cheaper but they were flimsy and were unfinished and didn't include any screws.

This product advertisement says, "Heavy Duty Mending Plate", and I beg to differ on that. The plates are pretty thin, and the screws are light duty sheet-rock screws.On an up note the plates are non-magnetic, so I do believe that they are made of stainless steel. The screws, however are not stainless and are very magnetic!I would use a product like this to fix an object that has cracked wooden joints that have hardened and shrunk from aging. Light duty projects could mend very nicely with this product. Nothing with a lot of stress that would pull out the screws and ruin the furniture even more.This in not, in any way a product for "Heavy Duty Mending"!

Package arrived open. Only 3 of the 4 in the pack arrived. Decent build quality. Need to redesign my plan for these due to only 3 pieces arriving but will work nicely regardless. Nice solid black color.

These brackets are very useful in a number of different projects, and I like to always have a few on hand. Very sturdy, well galvanized, I am sure they will hold up to a number of heavy duty requiring tasks. There are two sizes of screws supplied, which is a really nice touch as not every project requires the same length screws. I used it to build my duck house and reinforced my side panels. Worked great.

Nicely finished matte black mending plates, with 2 lengths of screws that mate well with the countersunk holes in the plates. Available in 2 sizes; order the smaller ones to fit 2x4 construction (actually 1.5 x 3.5 inches).

The 4 Pcs Flat Mending Plate, 1.9''x3.9'' Black Stainless Steel work well as mending plates, but I wonder if they are stainless steel because I can't get a magnet to stick to them. Unfortunately, I wanted to use them cover up some holes in the top of a hutch where I removed the lights (from the 1970s, with wiring I didn't trust) so I affix some magnetic lights to them.... but they aren't attracted to this metal. That said, they seem sturdy and are powder-coated black. They come with sturdy screws, and there's no doubt they would work in a situation where magnetism is not an issue.
