The molds that I received arrived clean and undamaged. They do leave graphite residue/chalk behind on your hands if you touch them without gloves... but that is what I expected from graphite. It is what pencil lead is made out of. The molds feel fragile, I would definitely want to store them where they are not likely to be bumped hard or dropped. My casting setup is not ready yet but based on feel and appearance, these are what I was expecting based on the product photos.
