My first break-cable job (see red cable-casing in photo). Easy, but you must your brain. It is a 2 part system.1-actual steel cable2-the outer rubber casing (colored)Extra- casing fittingsThe casing is a hollow tube with inner walls. These walls get pinched close when you cut them as others have mentioned. I just used a one of those computer screwdrivers, super skinny long metal thing, and "re-opened" the pinched hole. Easy. Then run the actual cable through the colored casing. Easy. Good price. Smash the helpful button, pro-review nerd.

Yes, there is a teflon sleeve inside the housing. Overall an excellent set, and I use a bench grinder to make the coil in the housing flush. If you don't have that use a coarse sharpening stone or even rough concrete to ensure the inside of the coil where you cut it to length is not interfering with the cable.

Very good quality wire and housing. 100% exact match with my original bicycle cables. Also, it gives you more length of cable and housing for your money compared to less from OEM cables. In my opinion, this is just as good quality as Shimano cables. I highly recommend them.

Cables are shorter than black jacket, I was barely able to get my rear cable to work. The ferrules are also quite flimsy.

These were good replacements for my bikes cables but the inner housing would spiral in after cutting. I was using a good set of brake cable cutters but the housing was hard to work with.to resolve I ended up cutting the then using a finish nail to reopen the end. Finally used my bench grinder to clean it up. This was a bit of a tedious effort but the cables worked great after.While it worked I will probably look at a different brand next time.

Decent quality cable. Enough length for a hybrid bike to cover the front and rear brakes. Probably good for racing bikes and MTBs also. 4 spare inner brake cables should be enough for a couple of years actually!NOTE: Does NOT include gear cables. Gear cable outer is a smaller diameter so do not try.
