I recently purchased the Universal Bicycle Transmission Line Bicycle Shift Derailleur Cable and Brake Cable Kit with blue brake cables, and it has been a fantastic addition to my bike. I wanted to add some customization, and this kit delivered functionality and aesthetics.The blue brake cables look fantastic and add a nice color to my bike. They perfectly match my new, wider handlebars, which were too wide for the original brake and derailleur cables. The extra length of these cables ensured a perfect fit, allowing me to complete the installation without any issues.The quality of the cables is excellent. Used this kit to replace both brake cables and housing and the 3-speed thumb shifter cable and housing on an department store bike from the 70s. Liked the fact that the dimensions of the brake and shifter cables and housings were correct and compatible. Unfortunately, the swaged metal cable end options for the shifter had to be modified and customized (shortened and with a different end) to work with my thumb shifter. This isn't the fault of the kit. Just an issue with age of the bike and the now, relatively uncommon, shifter.The brakes and shifter work much more smoothly now. I am please with the quality of the cables and their housings.

I enjoy working on my own bike, and recently I replaced seat, stem, and handlebars on my "mountain bike" style every day bike, to accommodate the needs of an aging male body. Thus my handlebars are now medium high, instead of low and aggressive. All four cables to my Shimano mountain bike control hardware required new cables, and the Boao Universal set filled my requirement perfectly. Everything works nicely and the shifting is easier than it was just before the cable change-over... for cables installed in 2012 so that's enough reason right there to change 'em all. Improvement especially noticeable for front and rear derailleurs. P.S. You'll need better tools than even the best conventional dikes, to cut any of these cables properly, and that subject is addressed on YouTube.

It was nice that it came with plenty of ferrules and whatnot, but one of the brake cables was sheared in the bag, not from shipping, just from manufacturing, so not the best quality control, and I couldn’t use it. Otherwise, okay.

Great kit, includes the wire cable housing for shifting and the spiral housing for brakes, often they just give you the spiral brake housing is not ideal for constant pressureIn addition to that this kit gives you a bounty of ferrules to chose from to finish the cables, small ones, wider, even those old metal ones.Very happy and the price works for me!

I replaced my girlfriends brake cables on a cruiser bike with these. She loves them. The purple are a little more pink in color. Quality is as good as the original cables that came on bike.

This is a full set of everything needed to fully re-cable a bike.The outers are nylon lined and the inners are very densely wound, which gives a smooth action.You do need to cut the outers (hacksaw) and inners (side cutters) to length.There is a selection of plastic and metal end caps, to suit the cable adjusters on your bike and wire end nipples.
