Got these for Operation Christmas Child. I did a test of them indoors. Huge mistake! My ears were ringing and I'm nearly deaf in one ear. They're tiny, lightweight, had a nice finish, and the lanyard seems rugged and durable. The lanyard also has some rotating thingy that enabled you to lock it in different positions. I'm not sure the purpose of that, but it has the ability. When I need more, I'll purchase again.

3 of the 4 gold whistles produced a loud sound. One was more difficult to blow and not nearly as loud. Bought for hiking backpack and for car keychain. For price they're good.

I initially bought these because we have frequent coyote sightings in our neighborhood and often walk in the evening with our dogs. The loud noise scares them away without putting them in potential harm. Then I expanded to buying them as gifts for everyone’s stockings as so many family members work at night, live on campus or are joggers. Basically I could find a reason for everybody to have one on a keychain. They all loved getting them in their stockings, the beautiful design/colors and the idea of having a safety device on hand. I absolutely highly recommend and will definitely continue buying these as gifts.
