3 of the whistles are shrill and work great- the fourth was a flop. There is a plastic piece inside all of the whistles that somehow impacts the airflow, thus the resulting sound. It looks like the plastic part on the 4th whistle was inserted too far down. I have tried to readjust it, and cannot. If I had purchased 100 whistles and 1 or 2 didn't work, no big deal. To purchase a set of 4 and have one of them dysfunctional, is not great. Cannot recommend.
