I ordered the 3mm round ceramic because I wanted the media to pass through holes and openings when tumbling small rock sculptures. It worked perfectly for that and also was very effective in polishing other stones in a vibratory tumbler. Possibly the added surface area of the small beads enhanced the effectiveness of the polishing stages.

These work great to protect soft rocks like obsidian and sunstone during tumbling but the 3mm size is small and a bit messy. They tend to cling to the rocks and tumbling barrel. However they do work well particularly during the prepolish and polishing stages in vibratory tumblers. Because they are so small they tend to be messy and cleanup takes some time. The good news is that they replace the need for sugar, molasses or other messy thickeners which are even more messy and can be expensive. I hope this helps. I find that these beads work very well in tumbling obsidian and beach rocks particularly in the prepolish and polishing stage. They can also be washed and used in all phases of the tumbling/vibratory process.

These were in my search for beans for a bean bag chair. I definitely didn’t read it enough.This little bag weighed 5lbs. It’s the size of 5lbs of flour. It would have taken at least 8 of them to fill the chair, by that time it would of weighed 50lbs. I assumed they were foam but I think it said ceramic? I’m not sure why they were in the bean bag search.

I bought these to add to my barrels while rock tumbling. I have to admit that these are tiny. I will buy the larger ones in the future. My opinion is these are too small. Have had a couple instances where these got stuck inside rocks I was tumbling.

I ordered the SACKORANGE 3 lbs 3mm Round Tumbling Ceramic Filler Media Non-Abrasive Ceramic Pellets and after it arrived one bag was resealed with tape and out of the 6lbs (2 orders of 3lbs) I only had 5.3lbs of material. This is a 12% loss in a material I never got to use.
