Absolutely worth the price. The added height of the shifter makes for more comfortable shifting vs the factory set up. Plus the throw went from 3 or 4 inches from gear to gear to around an inch. This kit also removed the old sloppy feeling in the shifter.

You don't need a thousand dollar shifter to improve your driving experience. Unless you've got deep pockets and are struggling to shave ounces off your weight with a very high end weight-saver, this works just as well as any other product. Throws are about half as long as stock. Depending on condition of your old shifter hardware, the new cup bearing on the bottom of the lever might actually also tighten your shifts while you're at it (did for me).Installation was perfectly easy. Double check with any YouTube guides, but essentially:1.) Remove old shifter knob2.) Pull up the center console, unplugging any wires you need to as you go3.) Pull the old boots and gaskets off the old knob4.) Remove the 4 bolts around the "square" (maybe?) base of the old shifter5.) Carefully pull out the shifter6.) Remove the 4 nuts from the new shifter (so that the top "plate" is "loose")7.) Ensure you've either used the old gasket (if present) or lined the shifter hole with a new gasket or RTV (after cleaning it)8.) Insert the new shifter into the transmission, ensuring it goes in where it "wants" to go (shouldn't have to force it in at all)9.) Torque down the bolts in a corner-to-corner pattern, never finishing any one corner till you're at the end of the installation10.) Reattach any boots or gaskets you want to keep11.) Do steps 2 and 1 until everything is reassembled. The stock shifter (in a 1987 Supra at least) has a bulge at the top made out of the same steel as the rest of the lever, so getting the old boots off may be a challenge. However, I was able to get both of the old boots (both the one that was as wide as that bulge AND the one that was was wide as the lever itself) off by putting the top of the old shift knob on the ground and forcing the boots over the bulge. Ended up keeping and using the smaller boot, as it was roughly the same diameter as the new shift lever.Had to subtract a point because at any "forward" gears (1st, 3rd, 5th), the shifter gets dangerously close to the center console. The shifter itself is at risk of hitting it unless you have a ridiculously oversized knob (protip: don't get a ridiculously oversized knob), but I did run into the AC controls on accident a few times. As far as I could tell, there's no adjustment or repositioning available for the lever itself, like there are on certain other competitors at a higher price point, so beware of that.Another minor issue (not enough to justify going down to three stars, i guess both this and the other point are like 0.5 stars each) is that the new lever is quite long, and it's difficult to get the OEM leather "shell" from the center console around it as you're putting everything back together. I had to place the transmission into third gear (to pull the shifter as far back as possible) and carefully maneuver the shell over the lever.

This short shifter would have gotten two stars if not for the fact that it is still in use and working well. When it arrived and i took it apart the pins were loose in the block and let the shifter wobble around. I was able to drill the holes a little larger and press in new hardend pins from both sides and now have a pretty good feeling shift that cut the throw by just over half the distance. It is cheaper than a cube shifter for a reason, with some modifying its ok.

I think for the money the product is amazing snugs up my shifter and makes it a lot of fun to drive. Most important part is I don’t slam my coffee shifting into 2nd gear

I bought this one for my sc300 at a time when their listing said this does not fit sc300 and they have another listing… well there is no other listing so I bought this. The 92-94 sc300’s do not have remote mount shifter w58’s so this should fit just like in a jza80. Anyways, I installed it and it bolted to the trans. However, the shifter hit the ashtray all the time. So I cut a 2inch long 1/4 piece of metal to push the shifter position back. This worked out very well and was a huuuge upgrade for my 200k shifter.
