This tape really works well to repair an old RV awning. Ours was ripping at the front and dry rotted. The duct tape that was originally on there had also dry rotted and come off. We used this tape to repair and pretty much reconstruct a piece of awning and it held great! We used the awinging over the weekend and the stood up to both rain and pretty strong wind gusts. The repair was waterproof, we so no water leaking through during the rain. The tape comes in a large width so you are using less strips per repair, it has woven in fibers for strength and is super sticky and strong. You will need a razor knife or pair of strong shears (like EMS shears) to cut this stuff when you are putting it on as you cannot tear it by hand. When we applied it, one of us got on a ladder and one on the roof. We then stretched out the strips and cut them to length and applied them to the repair area. We put tape on both the top and bottom of the awning and folded the ends over.Note that if the tape sticks to something such as the side of the RV or ladder, once you pull it off, the adhesive is done, you cannot reapply the tape so be catious. Once you put it on the awning, it will rip the awning trying to pull it off so you must position it right on the first try. Again, go slow and be careful.

This RV awning repair tape is a game changer for fixing tears in aging awnings. I used it to patch up a dry-rotted, ripping awning, and it worked wonders—holding up against rain and strong wind gusts. The wide width of the tape covers more surface area with fewer strips, and the woven fibers provide extra strength. It's incredibly sticky, so be careful when applying it, as repositioning isn't an option. The tape's waterproof seal held up well, and it also worked great on a tarp shed exposed to the sun. Overall, this tape offers a reliable, durable repair solution

My awning of 20+ years old have a few tears that I wanted to repair. I got this repair tape with that in mind and I am not disappointed. This tape is super sticky so be sure you have it just where you want it before you put any pressure on it to seal it. It is very easy to apply. All I had to do was clean the area around it, try it very well and apply the tape. When my awning is completely rolled up, I can’t Tell where the patch was from underneath. I’m hoping that this repair tape over winter as well. I’ll have to wait until next spring to unroll it and see how it did. Overall, this was a good purchase compared to buying a new awning!

I used this to repair the tarp shed I keep my motorcycle under after finding the sun was tearing it apart. It's tough, adheres well to the existing tarp, and should be significantly more durable under the sun than the tarp shed itself. This stuff is expensive, but it does a good job.

I used this on a boat cover that had ripped where the throttle was located. It was a 3-way rip and very hard to patch. This tape was the perfect size for the rip, and adhered perfectly to the fabric. I also put some on the underside of the rip and it works very well. I'm so glad I spent my money on this repair tape. I hope to get many months use out of a boat cover that I would have normally replaced. Excellent value for the money!

Update9/2/2024On our 1st trip after this was installed. it looked promising but started to peel backUsed on a 3 inch tear in my RV awningThis is exposed to the sun 24x7, I hope it stands up to UVIt sticks very well to existing clean RV awningThe 5in width will help cover wide and jagged tearsThis appears to be the same as fiberglass packing tape, but much widerCost at time of review $15.99Overall, I am hopeful it stands up to UV. It is easy to use, and very strong. You will need scissors or a knife to cut this.

We were camping & the door put a rip in the awning so this tape can repair that problem. For double protection putting tape on both sides to see how it lasts. 5 inch wide repair tape can firmly repair the damaged fabric surface. It is ideal for repair your rv awning, trailer awning, canvas, tent, camper awning, canvas, leather, boat cover, tarps, sail, umbrella, plastic film etc. It can also be used as reinforced strapping tape and packaging tape. Good option for RV awning repair as advertised.

This is sticky fiber tape. I decided to try it out on an old knackered umbrella we have on our patio. It is holding for now but I checked a few minutes ago and part of the tape had lost adhesion. Time will tell. I have an RV awning with a quarter sized hole in it. During a storm a largish branch came straight down and punctured the awning. It was loud! Holy moly! Anyway, I saw this product and thought it might work. If this umbrella fix holds I will put it on the awning as well.
