This set comes with 6 small charcoal bags that are cute and compact. They are in a rough textured bag with a rope and button closure. The rope doesn’t always stay hooked around the button because some of the rope pieces are too long, so it would be better if the rope was tighter so it stays around the button and keeps the bags closed.The packets work well but for smaller spaces. They are only effective in closeted, gym bags, car, shoes, etc. because of their size. The charcoal does absorb the smell and keeps things from smelling musty. I bought these to replace using room sprays (and car plugins) due to all the toxins in the fresheners. They work to remove that stale air smell in the car and they keep storage areas or containers smelling fresh or more they make them odorless. The bags don’t really have a smell except for the charcoal itself.The charcoal needs to be put in the sun before using for full effectiveness. You will want to do this once a month. I usually leave them in the sun for at least two hours for full effectiveness. Each bag has a rough textured cloth bag inside that holds the charcoal. When you put them in the sun I would remove these bags so that the sun can get to the charcoal easier. The charcoal is completely natural with no chemicals so these bags are safe for you/your family.

My son's shoes smell terrible. I don't know why, he takes like two showers a day.I got him to shove these in his shoes and the mud room doesn't have thet telltale foot stank anymore. I don't know if these are absorbing the stink and making his shoes better or if they're just absorbing what's coming out. Either way, I'm super happy that these seem to be doing a solid job of keeping things less gross smelling.

Since 2019, we have been hanging air purifying bags in our bathrooms to minimize the spread of mildew on window frames and toilet bowls. These bags have been very effective. Every month or so, when we remember, we place these bags under direct sunlight for a few hours to rejuvenate them.This year, we noticed that mildew built up faster in the toilet bowl. The activated bamboo charcoal in the old bags had reached the end of its effectiveness, so we ordered new purifying bags. These new bags come in two eye-pleasing colors but do not include hooks. Fortunately, we can reuse the hooks from the old bags. Each new bag contains 100g of activated charcoal, compared to the 200g in the old bags. We hope they will be just as effective.

I live in townhouse with my wife and two cats. We're not cramped for space but smart storage solutions are a must. Right by our front door we have a shoe cabinet that stores all of our footwear. In order to keep first impressions pleasant when people come over it is essential that we keep the odors neutralized. I have 4 of these in with our shoes and it keeps our foyer welcoming.

I've used charcoal bags like this in the past, so I know the concept works, but I was a little skeptical when these arrived and they were much smaller than the ones I had in the past, plus had two layers around the charcoal--one a layer like the reusable grocery bags, and the second a soft burlap. It can certainly be argued that this is better, so they won't eventually start leaking coal dust, but I wasn't sure it would be conducive to airflow.I put them in the sun before using them, to make sure they were ready to absorb all nasty smells, then I put two in a smelly hand-me-down buffet, two in a very small small shower-and-toilet room with the door closed, and one in the laundry/utility room where the drainage sink is almost always wet and stinky (a fairly large space). Thirty-six hours later, the buffet cabinet still reeked (to be fair, I don't think it will ever stop smelling, because I've been trying for 9 years), the shower/toilet room smelled completely neutral (woohoo!), and call me crazy, but I think the laundry room actually smelled better (not completely odorless, but not as bad). I would call that a pretty great result and would highly recommend them!

These bags are great for absorbing odors. They are a little smaller than other bags I have ordered, which was nice for my purposes. We had a rental car long term that had an unpleasant smell. I put these bags in and they helped get rid of the odors significantly.

I have had these bags for a couple weeks now and put them in closets that my husband has his boots and hunting gear. The bags are odorless and are supposed to absorb odors from the air. I can’t tell a difference at all. I was hoping that these would absorb the bad odors so that I wouldn’t have to continue using expensive air fresheners.
