This is exactly what I needed for my generator shed. The listed wattage is pretty close, and the sound levels are fairly quiet. (In the photo, that db measurement was roughly 15" from the device. So from a distance you won't hear this fan. The built in self dampener fully closes when the fan is turned off My generator shed is 8x4x8, and I'm glad I ordered this 6" size, as its perfect for the application. After Hurricane Milton put my smaller inverter generator to the test, I bought a larger very expensive commercial generator (from someone that used it once) So I needed to tame the generator noise. This generator shed has 3" thick acoustic walls and an extended exhaust that claims to reduce the sound 60% (which is not even close to reality. More like 2%-6%) Going to evaluate that once my generator shed is fully finished. It'll take me a bit to put in the autonomous fire suppression system. This fan isn't loud, won't break the bank, has metal fan blades and it's rated output is almost spot on. I had a different exhaust fan for this project, but this fan is better.

We have one of those "fake" fans over our stove that doesn't do anything other than spread the cooking smells around as it does not exhaust to the outside. But luckily next to our stove we have a window and this fan fits perfectly there for when we cook things like fish, onions, cabbage or any other smelly foods you won't want your house to smell like. It sucks all the cooking smells right out. Love that it has a little switch on the cord so you can easily turn it on and off without having to unplug it. We don't keep the fan in the window permanently, just when we cook and it easily stores under the sink. This was a lot easier than installing an actual exhaust fan over the stove. It has great sucking power and not as loud as you would expect for all the air it sucks out. It gets the job done. Also nice that it's made out of metal and not plastic

This fan is really noisy and loud to a point nt I had to unplug it. It worked but I just couldn't stand the noise.

A nice large fan that would be great for agricultural or industrial uses. It's also got a nice white paintjob so you can get away with it residentially as well. Just be sure to keep it level and place is so the two flaps open horizontally. If you have it turned the flaps will just hang open instead of sealing up when the fan stops.

The fan is too loud for my use, but it moves a lot of air and is easy to install and use. Well made metal blade and housing should last for years to come. Baffles are okay, but I find the springs to be a bit weak for any use that would need them to keep air our or even critters.

I'm about to order it and it says 7.8in x 7.8in. Don't let the tiny hand in the picture fool you. I'll take pics with a normal size hand and drill when it's delivered.

everything is great EXCEPT it is soo loud i can hear it across the street! Maybe i'll invest in a fan speed controller for this.
