These are very cheap brittle feeling plastic.They slide too easily and have no way to lock in the measurement. This works if you can read the measurement while the caliper is still on the object being measured. If you have to move the caliper off of the object to read the measurement, there is no way to keep the slide from moving and reporting an incorrect value (this would be my most common use for a caliper).The slider has a stem, for nearly the entire length of the caliper, that comes out the far end which also makes it harder to use and that stem will eventually get broken.

I've had a similar product for a number of years. These appear to be slightly less sturdy but overall they work the same. I think they are great to have around and use them all the time. I have a few metal calipers both dial and electronic but more often than not I will grab one of these for a quick rough measurement. I didn't pick up that 3 of the 6 are a smaller size and I'm not sure how much I will use them.
