They showed cold rolled steel and inprint declared it to be CRS which is more precise, stronger due to the cold working but it costs more. Hot rolled steel has a free carbon coating as these rod have. It’s less strong, and precise. Fortunately I can use HRS even though the rods sent are not what I expected. Their add is deceptive. I’d not rate them above 1 for that! Was it cheating or a mistake? I am not an amateur here, Im a professional qualified commenter here.

I wish I could rate this higher; but if a company is going to call their product "precision", then the specifications need to match the product. This key stock is sold as 1/4" (.25") and not a single bar met that specification, all bars measured at .23" (under 1/4" spec). On top of them being out of spec, the surface of the bars has already started to sustain rust; meaning these were not properly oiled for storage, this rust is minimal, but noticeable.If you need precision bar stock; look elsewhere, but if you just want something close for a non keyed project, this should work fine. Due to the material being so far out of spec, I cannot recommend this product for its intended use.

While the picture shows a bright finish to these bars, they are not. I will find a use for them, but not for what I purchased them for. Overall they are what was described, just not finished as expected.
