I wanted to like this tool. It is heavy duty, jaws are finely ground and dead parallel WHEN CLOSED. Fit and finish is good but there are numerous small dings, some of which require attention with hand hone. The problem is that although small lengths are quite accurate, longer measurements are way off due to the simple fact that the main beam is extremely warped.There was a significant hassle returning due to the seller's lack of prepaid mailer. UPS postage was an unbelievable $34.01 which Amazon extented the courtesy of covering (Thanks, Amazon!).

I purchased this gage from CME. It was not accurate by .015", rendering it useless to a machine shop. The etchings we off dimension when we calibrated, so gage had no option for repair.I had had it 37 days, and seller refused return.
